Cleanse, exfoliate, moisturize. Exfoliating is the one step often missed in the skincare routine and it can be the game changer in keeping your skin moisturized.  After speaking with my customers, I have learned that it is often missed because the products on the market are too harsh or they didn’t think they should be exfoliating if they already have dry skin.

If you do have dry skin, exfoliating is actually really important. Exfoliating buffs away the dead skin cells, which brings your healthy cells to the skin’s surface. When you apply your moisturizers to these healthy skin cells it allows your moisturizer to soak in and be more effective.   If you aren’t exfoliating, those dry dead skin cells block water and your moisturizers to full absorb into the skin. One of my customers came back to me a week after she started the body scrub and said her legs weren’t itchy anymore. This is because she started to use the scrub and wasn’t only applying her moisturizers.

Before I created this whipped gentle scrub, I tried some pretty harsh ones and it totally turned me off to this skincare step, like many of the customers I spoke to.

Dermatologists recommend exfoliating 2-3 times a week.   I would say start with 2 and see how your skin feels.  Some of my customers with sensitive skin use our gentle whipped body scrub on a daily basis but we recommend start at 2 times a week  and build up to see what works for you.

We recommend using a body butter and body oil after exfoliating. You can use these alone but mixing them together gives your skin an extra boost of hydration!

And as always, make sure you are staying hydrated and eating healthy to nourish your skin from the inside out.

Hugs and stay warm!
